Hello and Happy 2019! It’s been awhile! This is Tyora Moody, author of the Eugeena Patterson Mysteries and many other series. I want to introduce a new Christian Fiction read to you with this post.
Tyora: Welcome to Black Christian Reads, Zaria.
Zaria: Thank you for the opportunity!
Tyora: What inspired you to write Hannah?
Zaria: I am inspired to write by Biblical stories. As Christians we all read the bible, but we think that what happens in the bible stays in the bible. In other words, we find it hard to relate it to our life today. So my inspiration comes from taking a familiar bible story and giving it a modern twist.
Tyora: What do you hope readers will learn from reading Hannah?
Zaria: I hope that my readers will learn something about themselves and draw closer to God. Jesus taught in parable. That is not to compare myself to Jesus, but I believe that it shows how easy it is for people to learn things when told in story form rather than through preaching.
About the Book
Hannah Grayson holds the distinction of being the first female pastor to lead the congregation at Greater St. Luke Fellowship, in Atlanta Georgia.
Overcoming a child hood in the projects and growing up in foster care she attended college at Brown Bottom State University, and received her master’s in theology from Gammon Theological Seminary.
During her tenure as pastor, Greater St. Luke’s congregation has grown in leaps and bounds with over 100 new members in three years. They’ve started a summer camp for low income teens, a food and clothing bank for the underprivileged, a young adult choir, and senior ladies dance ministry. Due to the growth, the church board hired an associate pastor, a youth pastor, and a full security team. She’s been approached by a local television station to broadcast her sermons to millions across the internet.
As an unmarried female pastor she’s faced and overcome many challenges and she knows that it will take God’s hand to guide her through her latest one…Hannah is three months pregnant.
